Joint ventures in the Philippines

We explore the partnership model, participant roles and preparation for implementation.

Joint projects: shared resources and responsibilities

A joint project combines several parties' contributions to achieve a defined result. Partners may establish a separate company or use a contractual model. Contributions may include capital, technology, equipment, a product, a team or access to sales channels.

This model is useful when each party needs its partner's capabilities: local operations, manufacturing facilities, technology or access to customers.

Impact is assessed through output, capacity, sales, costs and jobs created. Each business requires its own cash-flow and scenario analysis; national economic growth and the size of someone else's project do not determine its returns.

How are ownership and profits divided?

Terms depend on contributions, asset valuations, responsibilities and the agreed structure. The website offers no universal ownership split or promise of returns.

What should be checked before signing an agreement?
